Hear ye, hear ye! The Sully Medieval Festival is coming on August 1st and 2nd, 2026!

06 July 2026

For one weekend, the fortress of Sully-sur-Loire takes a genuine journey back in time. Forget the 21st century: on Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the château plunges right back into the heart of the Middle Ages for a fully immersive, festive experience!

Whether you are a history enthusiast, simply curious, or looking for a unique family outing, come and meet dozens of passionate artists and craftspeople who will bring the great eras of the Middle Ages to life before your eyes.

A fantastic program for the whole family

Over these two days, the main courtyard and the historic rooms of the keep come alive with non-stop activity. Let yourself be swept away by vibrant workshops and performances:

The King’s Artillery: cover your ears! Come and watch impressive demonstrations and explanations featuring cannons and black powder. It’s going to be a blast with the King’s own gunner!

Burlesque theater and medieval farces: laughter is guaranteed with humorous shows blending theater, music, and mischief, brought to you by the Les Péchus troupe.

Musical atmosphere: listen to the enchanting rhythms of troubadours and try your hand at a few medieval dance steps with the Archéophonia-Philemon troupe.

Gastronomy & the Art of Living: explore the flavors, spices, and dining customs of the era with the Hauts Cœurs troupe.

An immersion in the daily lives of the lords

From coin minting to calligraphy, discover the best-kept secrets of the 14th and 15th centuries:

The Lord’s Quarters: discover the private life of a prince (hygiene, comfort, sleep, textiles...) by the Regrattiers of History troupe.

Coats of Arms, Architecture & Weaponry: immerse yourself in the art of heraldry and discover the construction techniques and weaponry of the Middle Ages by the Regrattiers of History troupe.

The Duke’s Medicine: meet "Sieur Mineau," our apothecary, and delve into the mysteries of medieval health and healing by the Regrattiers of History troupe.

and much more...
