A magical Christmas at the castle - afternoon tea and fire juggling show

Saturday, December 20th
From 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm

On the eve of Christmas Eve, join us for a Christmas tea at the Château de Sully-sur-Loire. Fire jugglers will be performing a show that will illuminate our château as night falls. A unique and heartwarming experience awaits you at this magical and delicious event!

Evening Schedule:

Tea from approximately 4:30 pm to 5:15 pm

Fire juggling show in the main courtyard (please dress warmly) from approximately 5:15 pm to 5:45 pm

End of the evening at 6:00 pm

We recommend arriving earlier in the day to fully enjoy the château. Self-guided tour duration: approximately 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes (estimated average visit time). Your standard admission ticket includes access to the castle, afternoon tea (subject to availability and reservation), and the fire show at the end of the day.

Christmas Historical Tours

Sundays, December 21 and 28
at 3:00 PM

Embark on a 1.5-hour guided tour with a guide straight out of the castle's past. Stories both grand and intimate will be shared during this stroll through the castle's rooms.

Practical information:

No reservation required, limited places available.
The guide is in period costume.
Included with the guided tour admission ticket.

Paper Christmas wreath workshops

Tuesdays, December 23 and 30
at 2 p.m.

In the main hall, all the necessary materials await you to make your own paper Christmas wreaths. Led by a facilitator, you will be guided step by step through the process. A festive Christmas workshop to share with friends or family.

Workshop on the first floor of the keep (approximately 20 steps to climb to reach the main hall)

Christmas show "Gaspard's Melody"

Friday, December 26th
at 3:30 pm

A Christmas show orchestrated by the company "Des Sans Lacets" to enchant you during this festive season! It's a tale, a Christmas tale, of course! Caroline Loyal-Marion plays a storyteller-musician who comes to tell us the story of Gaspard. Gaspard is a little boy who leaves home that morning with a very specific idea in mind: tonight is Christmas, and he wants to give his parents a very nice surprise... A lovely gift, a gift full of love, but also a very useful one! Gaspard sets off in search of a very special song... Because it's the "song to lull little sisters to sleep"...

Medieval gastronomy

10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM

But what did people eat in the Middle Ages? The cuisine and table manners of the period will no longer hold any secrets for you. A delightful appetizer before the New Year's Eve feast. Join our costumed entertainers for continuous entertainment in the great lower hall of the keep. Interact with them for a truly immersive experience in the Middle Ages!

A must-have for the Christmas holidays, the "Christmas Through the Ages" activity booklet will keep you on your toes: riddles and challenges await. Your mission: solve the entire booklet to win a reward.

Christmas at the Château de Sully-sur-Loire - decorations

From November 29 to December 31

In addition to our other Christmas decorations, such as a banquet at Sully at Christmastime, come and discover the Duke of Sully's grand Christmas table in the Hall of Honor.

Some activities require reservations: contact us at +33 2 38 36 36 86 to reserve your place (Christmas tea, workshops, shows, etc.).
The castle's opening hours in December are: Tuesday to Friday from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm (last admission at 5 pm) and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 12 pm and from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm (last admission at 11:30 am and 5 pm). Closed on Mondays.

The ticket office closes 30 minutes before the site closes.

The gift shop is open to the public.

All activities and shows are in French only.
